Botox® is our most performed and popular treatment at The Facial Center, and for good reason. When injected properly, Botox subtly reduces wrinkles, frown lines and furrows while allowing you to retain natural and expressive facial movement. The Facial Center’s expert injectors consistently deliver the natural-looking results you desire helping our clients achieve a more youthful appearance.
The Most Experienced Botox Providers
At The Facial Center not only do we employ expert injectors to administer Botox, but we also employ a national trainer for Allergan Inc. Dr. Jared Chapman. Dr. Chapman is one of the most sought-after providers of Botox in the area; he trains our staff at The Facial Center and he travels the country teaching other medical professionals proper injection techniques.
All of our Botox providers in Charleston and Hurricane, WV, are considered expert injectors, trained in the most advanced injection techniques to achieve the most natural- looking results. The Facial Center clients will be seen by Dr. Chapman, one of our many American Board Certified Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons or registered cosmetic nurse for their injections of Botox.
So who better to trust for the most natural looking results than one of the most experienced providers of Botox? The Facial Center… experience you can trust.
What to expect with Botox
Botox injections are very simple to perform and usually take less than five minutes per facial area. Using a tiny micro-needle, a minuscule amount of an FDA-approved serum containing botulinum toxin type A is injected very precisely into select facial muscles.
Because the needle used for the Botox injection is very thin, normally no sedation or local anesthetic is necessary. Comfort is enhanced by applying a topical anesthetic or an ice pack a few minutes before the treatment.
Normal daily activities can be resumed immediately after Botox injections as long as an upright position is maintained. However, you should not work out for several hours after your treatment. External pressure should not be applied to the area treated with Botox for about four or five hours as well.
You may begin to notice results within 24 to 48 hours up to two weeks to notice the full positive results. Keep in mind that Botox simply relaxes the muscles and therefore makes wrinkles less prominent. Deeper creases may still be there, but they won’t be as evident. Finer lines will seem to disappear completely.
Although results vary, most individuals can expect significant wrinkle reduction for about four months following the Botox injections. To maintain the desired wrinkle reduction effects, Botox injections can and should be repeated about every three or four months. The result tends to be longer- lasting with subsequent treatments.
Botox Side Effects
Following a Botox treatment, some patients may experience mild bruising at the injection site, or a mild headache. These conditions are temporary and gradually subside within a day or two. Please discuss with your provider if symptoms last longer than 24 hours.
Is Botox FDA-approved for cosmetic treatment?
Yes! BOTOX® Cosmetic is the first and only treatment FDA-approved to temporarily make moderate to severe frown lines, crow’s feet and forehead lines look better in adults. So you look like you, only with less noticeable facial lines. It’s a quick 10-minute treatment with minimal downtime. You may begin to notice results within 24 to 48 hours, with results lasting up to 4 months for moderate to severe frown lines.
