Waxing

Waxing is an alternative to shaving that keeps the hair away longer, and repeated waxing can leave the new hair growing back softer and lighter than before.

About Waxing

As an alternative to shaving, many people prefer waxing to get rid of unwanted hair in the facial region. Compared to shaving, which simply removes hair from the surface, waxing keeps hair away for a longer period of time because it removes the hair all the way down to the root. This means that hair won’t grow back in that area for anywhere from 4–6 weeks, depending on your typical hair growth cycle.

An additional benefit to waxing is that it can remove large areas of hair all at one time; and with continued waxing, hair is known to grow back softer, rather than rough stubble. Waxing can be performed on a number of surfaces, including legs, eyebrows, lips, cheeks, and more. At our office in West Virginia, we provide the following:

Eyebrow Waxing

Eyebrow waxing is commonly preferred to other methods, such as tweezing and threading, because it can provide a cleaner and sharper shape. Additionally, waxing is quicker because it removes many hairs at once rather than one at a time, making the treatment much less painful. Each time you have your eyebrows waxed, it will hurt less and less.

Lip Waxing

Waxing is one of the most popular options for removing stubborn peach fuzz above the upper lip. There are several benefits to waxing your upper lip as opposed to shaving or other techniques. With shaving, hair is known to grow back faster, coarser, and darker. In contrast, after waxing, the hair above the upper lip typically takes 6–8 weeks to grow back, and when it does, it’s finer and softer.

Chin Waxing

Much like eyebrow and lip waxing, chin waxing is incredibly efficient because it removes the hair at the root. This means it takes longer for the hair to grow back, which also means you won’t need to wax as often as you would need to shave. Fewer appointments also mean a more cost-effective solution to your unwanted hair.

Cheek Waxing

The cheeks are one of the larger areas of the facial region, which means that when unwanted hair appears, getting rid of it with a traditional method, such as tweezing, can be time-consuming and somewhat ineffective. Shaving can also be less than productive because it causes the hair to grow back faster and darker. Waxing is quick and provides more long-term, successful results.
