What To Expect During Your Treatment
The Consultation
When you come to our office and talk with either Dr. Krajekian or Dr. Brock, we will discuss the concerns you are having regarding facial skin and features and establish a care plan that is right for you.
If it is decided that a facelift will provide you with the results you are looking for, then we will schedule a date for surgery, and you will be given detailed pre-and post-operative instructions, which you must follow very closely.
The Procedure
When you arrive the day of your facelift surgery, your choice of anesthesia will be administered in the safety and comfort of our office, and the procedure will begin.
Depending on the extent of treatment outlined during the consultation, incisions will be made in the hairline at the temples and continue around the ear, ending at the lower scalp.
Fat may be sculpted or redistributed, the underlying tissue is repositioned, and deeper layers of the face and muscles are also lifted. When the procedure is complete, the skin is placed back over the newly uplifted facial contours, and excess skin is trimmed away.
The incisions are stitched or taped closed, and your recovery begins.
Recovery
You can expect some slight discomfort following your surgery. This can range anywhere from mild pain, swelling, bruising, or numbness.
You will have been given detailed post-operative instructions, which you should follow closely and carefully to ensure you have a speedy and smooth recovery.
We will schedule several follow-up appointments with you to assess healing and monitor your progress. If you receive stitches, your doctor will remove them about a week after surgery.
